Speaker: Gilbreth Bernardus
🧭 Gilbreth Bernardus is a halfling rogue with a silver tongue, sticky fingers, and a heart buried somewhere beneath five layers of bravado, debt, and charm. He claims to be a “connoisseur” of strong drink, stronger company, and the fastest ways out of places he was never supposed to be.

About me
Title: Self-proclaimed connoisseur of sorts well versed in the art of fine women and strong drink
Race: Halfling
Class: Rogue (Thief)
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral (with rare flashes of Chaotic Good, usually when he’s drunk and Chaotic Evil when he’s sober)
💬 “I don’t lie, I just rearrange the facts until they like me.”
🕊️ Notable Traits
Wears at least one stolen item at all times (though he’ll never admit which).
Believes luck is a currency, and he’s been overspending for years.
Carries a small, beat-up notebook labeled “IOUs & Mistakes.”
Claims to have a brother, tall as a tree, but can’t recall his name, face, or race — blames the brewer of the drink.
Once posted a wanted poster of a beer; surprisingly, it worked. He got not only a beer but also a young half elf named Breui Anne Ale, to whom which he is still engaged, or so he claims, since he refused to take back the engagement ring that he bought at 12th Hand Wares, a local pawn shop near one of the canal bridges in what some would call the ‘slum dump’ educational district of Borjira. He claims that he didn’t know he posted it.
Made it out alive, somehow, when encountering a mysterious figure known only as ‘The Emissary’ whom is associated with ‘The Underwold’ and Blood Mages Cults. How Gilbreth and his brother got there…remember that thing about being in places….following linear pathways? Either way, Gilbreth claims to have been saved by ‘The Luck of the Die’. Ironic isn’t it?
🎲 Sleight of Hand for No Reason
Flips coins, cards, and daggers just to keep his fingers busy — or distract whoever’s watching. The trick isn’t the trick. It’s making people forget he’s holding anything at all.
📝 Making Up Backstories on the Spot
Has at least seven versions of how he met Breui Anne Ale — and somehow, they’re all romantic, tragic, and legally questionable.
📜 Collecting IOUs and Never Redeeming Them
Keeps a notebook full of debts owed to him — real or imagined — but rarely calls them in. Says it’s not about the money. It’s about knowing.
🍻 Winning Drinking Contests by Not Actually Drinking
Perfected the art of faking a chug. Claims it’s about “strategy,” not cowardice. His liver thanks him.
🧥 Wearing Things He Didn’t Buy
Every ring, sash, and brooch has a story — usually involving a noble, a locked drawer, and a window that was just wide enough.
🎤 Telling Stories That Might Be True
He’s not lying — he’s narrating potential realities. That’s completely different.
🃏 Tavern Games He Made Up Himself
Plays a game called “Five-Finger Fibs.” Rules change every round. He always wins. No one knows why.
📮 Reading Other People’s Mail (Aloud, for Dramatic Effect)
Finds abandoned letters and performs them like a stage play. Usually adds his own ending.
🧑🍳 Pretending to Be a Better Cook Than He Is
Burns everything. Plates beautifully. Swears it’s a “Bojiran blackened crust technique.” It’s not.
🕵️ Listening to Gossip He Started
Will sit in a tavern quietly, drink in hand, and smile when someone repeats a story he started last week… with worse details.
