Episode 13 pt. 1 “Letters from Breui I Never Sent Back”
Host: Gilbreth Bernardus
Style: One-part advice, two-parts bragging, three-parts made-up
Setting: Candlelit attic, rain tapping on the roof — soft, unsteady breathing between readings; soft rustling of parchment
“Breui… if you’re out there…I never stopped writing.. I just stopped sending…”
:: TRANSCRIPT ::
Gilbreth speaks low, like he’s reading to himself but hoping someone hears
Gilbreth:
“There are letters I started and never finished.
Letters I finished and never sent.
And letters I rewrote a dozen times… just in case she ever asked if I’d written any.”
💌 Letter 1 (Never Sent): “To the One I Didn’t Deserve”
“You walked in like an answer to a question I wasn’t brave enough to ask.
I offered a joke. You offered silence. I fell in love with both.”
(pause)
“I never sent that one. It felt too much like surrender.”
💌 Letter 2 (Burned, Then Rewritten From Memory)
“Do you remember the pawn shop ring? I do.
Still wear it sometimes — not because I believe we were ever really engaged.
But because it fits. And not much does these days.”
💌 Letter 3 (Folded Inside a Bottle, Never Thrown)
“I would’ve lied for you forever if you’d asked.
But you didn’t ask.
You just smiled like you already knew.”
Gilbreth (whispering):
“Breui… if you’re out there…
I never stopped writing.
I just stopped sending.”
🎶 “Half-truths, whole drinks — and a bottle full of unsent honesty.” 🎶
